Third party characters for Brawlers of Might and Magic

Yesterday was dedicated to find good custom creatures (unofficial, not present on HoMM3) to use on Brawlers of Might and Magic (I'll call it BoMM or BoMM1 from now on).

The main criteria were:
1- The character must be graphically similar to the official HoMM3 characters.
2- The character must fit in one of the factions I selected for the game or be interesting enough to be a playable char.

My source of characters was the great site Acid Cave and here a some creatures I picked that are likely to show up on BoMM:

Brawlers of Might and Magic factions

The third game series I want to develop on OpenBOR (aside from SNES Legends and Maui Mallard saga) is inspired by the Might and Magic franchise, specially Heroes of Might and Magic III (HoMM3).

The graphics will be mostly ripped from HoMM3 of other graphically similar games and some costumization will be necessary. I still need to figure out the best way overcome the lack of "JUMP" and "GET UP" animations on HoMM3.
Might and Magic games, from VI to VIII, will be great sources for my games too; I may also use many custom graphics available on Might and Magic sites/communities.

The first game (the only one planned so far) may have ten playable characters and players will battle enemies from eight factions:
Castle / Haven
Rampart/Sylvan
Tower/Academy
Bastion
Necropolis/Inferno
Dungeon
Stronghold
Grove
Sanctuary

As you can see, the later HoMM games (IV to VI) will have a big influence on the factions.

I'll bring some teaser images later. Stay tuned!

What games will be part of SNES Legends?

SNES Legends is still being planned before I really start to develop it. Today I looked at its cast.

I'm still alive!

Hello everybody,

Two years have passed since the last post. I'm still interessed on this blog, but not as I used to use it.

During 2012 and 2013 I kept ripping sprites (mainly from Marvel: Avengers Alliance), learning a little bit about OpenBOR and planning the games I'll develop. Here (and on my Facebook page) I'll focus on the games I'll develop. Once this development hasn't started, the blog will remain inactive for a while.

2014 will be a tough year for me, probably the last year of my PhD. I'll keep ripping sprites but the OpenBOR work might start on the second semester of 2015.

Don't forget to follow my Facebook and Twitter account for news.
Thank you for your interest and support.

Maui Mallard Trilogy

Also on OpenBOR engine, I'm planning three games about the character Maui Mallard, from Disney Interactive. Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow was my favorite SNES game in childhood and its Mega Drive (Genesis) version is even better (in gameplay terms, the graphics and sound are better on the SNES, in my opinion).

I intent to make games with the following titles:
Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow 2: The Mojo Wars
Maui Mallard Origins: Duck Eater
Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow 3: Threats from the Red Earth

For the third game, I made some screens. I hope you like it:

About OpenBOR engine

Beats of Rage is a customisable video game engine made by Senile Team and inspired by Sega's classic Streets of Rage series. With Beats of Rage, users can create their own beat 'em up games - no programming experience required! Beats of Rage was first released for DOS in November 2003. It was not advertised in any way other than by word of mouth, yet it soon gained enormous popularity. Ports to many other systems (e.g. Dreamcast, Linux, Windows, GP32, GP2X, etc) soon followed.

Due to lack of required features from BoR (Beats of Rage) and many requests, some coders stepped in to improve BoR, coded those missing features and fulfilled some requests. There were some BoR variations because of that e.g OpenBoR, DarkBoR and HOR. OpenBoR is the most advanced one.
